Construction and Build

Construction & Build.

Yorbuild garden rooms standard building is of a maintenance free exterior using the latest in tongue and grooved upvc foil wrapped colours :- irish oak – golden oak – anthracite- and the latest colours from new coastline cladding shown below.

All of our building sub frames are of a sectional build with the cladding attached as a standard timber frame building ,which ensures the correct aesthetics for yorbuild. Giving you an option of being able to remove your building if you change location.

When we provide our free no obligation quote and survey we will provide examples of cross section of the roof – walls – and floor.

Ground Works and Electrics

Before your building is ready for onsite installation, our team from YorBuild Garden Rooms will install a suitable foundation. Alternately you can employ your own groundwork contractor.

As our buildings come complete with a timber floor we recommend a concrete base to provide adequate support. The durability and efficiency of your building depends on an accurate and level foundation. We recommend a minimum of a 4-inch thick concrete base., with no grooves or falls. The base will be made square-corner to corner and to the exact same length and depth as the building. This base will have a dampproof membrane and no deep foundations will be required.

Your garden room will need an adequate fuse board, power supply, lights and sockets. We are able to supply and fit all of these items for you in your choice of positions and we can discuss your exact requirements which could also include outside lights and external sockets. Socket cables are hidden in a specially formed recess which will enable easy access if you require additional points at a later date.

The power supply normally needs to come from the existing house fuse board via a black (garden hose size) waterproof and unbreakable armoured cable. This can be safely laid up the garden or clipped to a fence or trenched if preferred.
